First Presbyterian Church

During the month of September a bulletin board stood in the foyer of First Presbyterian Church of Great Bend. It held Mission Possible assignments (should the congregation choose to accept them.) In small envelopes were suggestions of  Undercover purchases that needed to be made: size 7 boy's underwear, size small girl's sweat pants, etc.

On September 28, elementary school guidance counselor, Sheryl Neeland, accepted these donations plus a Wal-Mart gift certificate in the amount of 40% of the church's 2008  Pentecost Offering and the monetary contributions given to Mission Possible on behalf of and to be used for the school children of Great Bend. Presenting these items was Carol Murphy (on the right), member of the church Mission Committee.

Younger children in school often have circumstances in which a change of clothing is needed. Sometimes children are placed in homes where there is an emergency need for clothing. The schools need the ability to provide clothing in such situations and that's where our Mission Possible assignments are used.
