Blessings Flow from Presbyterian Women's Prayer Shawl Ministry

Sixteen members of Presbyterian Women were inspired at their recent Fall Gathering by the stories told by Debbie Jones and Phyllis Bosley who both had dreams of a Prayer Shawl Ministry and have seen it come to fruition. 

Since the Ministry's beginning earlier this year, dedicated women in the church have knitted, crocheted, or quilted seventeen Prayer Shawls which have been given to people facing illnesses or bereavement. 

Many of the shawls are knitted with a pattern which represents the Holy Trinity, three rows of knitted stitches followed by three rows of purled stitches. 

Those making the shawls gather in small groups when the shawls are completed and ask God's blessing on both the makers and the receivers of the shawls. The shawls have been received with much emotion and appreciation.
